CLeDi project activities are going forward. Here some updates from IES Cartuja Team!
January 8th, 2020 – Enrique Moreno and David Membrives’s talk
CLeDi students had a meeting with Enrique Moreno and David Membrives at IES Cartuja premises. Enrique Moreno is a researcher, currently working in Chile for the RAIG (Radio Astronomical Instrumentation Group) within the Astro-Photonics division, an institutional platform provided by the University of Chile. David Membrives was a student of Professor Antonio Molina in the Maracena Occupational Classroom, and he is currently developing his professional activity in the field of Metal Carpentry and Welding. During their talks, the two scientists encouraged the students to be curious, to be open to new learnings and to follow their passions.
January 14th, 2020 – Cineforum: The Martian
CLeDi students from IES Cartuja participated at a Cineforum, during which they watched and discussed around the movie “The Martian”. The aim of this activity was to put them in a situation similar to what they will experience once the “The Survival Challenge” game begins.
January 19th, 2020 – History, Scientific misinformation and Hydrogen
Enrique Moreno Perez, a research physicist at RAIG (Radio Astronomical Instrumentation Group) within the Astro-Photonics division of the University of Chile, held a talk, entitled “History, scientific disinformation and hydrogen” in the auditorium of IES Cartuja on topics related to reusing materials and suggested that hydrogen might be one of the most promising energy storage vectors for the future.
February 5th, 2020 – Enrique Moreno’s Skype Call
CLeDi students interviewed via Skype Enrique Moreno Perez, from the Astronomical Radio Instrumentation Group based in the National Astronomical Observatory (OAN), Cerro Calán, Las Condes, Santiago (Chile). During the call, the scientist showed the students the facilities where he works – The National Astronomical Observatory in Chile, and shared some insights regarding the socio-economic situation in Chile.
February 13th, 2020 – The Solar System through collaborative learning
CLeDi students from IES Cartuja created a small-scale model of the Solar System. Collaborative learning approaches based on digital technologies, such as the website of the Department of Biology and Geology of the I.E.S. “Suel” of Fuengirola (Málaga) entitled “The Earth and the Universe” which contains more than forty interactive activities, were used in order to allow students to work at their own pace.
February 14th, 2020 – Workshop series “Have you ever felt alone?”
UGR Teachers organized a series of workshops with CLeDi students with the aim of strengthening interpersonal relationships and defining the role each participant will have in the survival game. Through storytelling games, students worked together and built up stories on topics related to discrimination, loneliness and rejection and ways to overcome difficult situations. The activity facilitated the creation of new connections among students and empathy towards people suffering from discriminating situations.
